Spring 2022 Mission to Lake Charles, Louisiana
Thursday-Friday, March 17-18
Had a very easy day of painting the rest of the building as well as putting 2nd coats of paint. Ralph’s team finished roofing and securing the walls in their storage and secured parts of the second building. Faye’s lead of direction led to a successful day of helping the hurricane relief.

—Love from the Mission Trippers
Tuesday, March 15
The weather today was wonderful with clear skies and low 70’s. Breakfast in the church fellowship/gymnasium thanks to Ralph and Roger. Devotional ‘It’s not about Us’…..reminding us we are servants to others…….disperse, sharing and celebrating through love and SERVICE……
The pictures reflect the work outside, prepping and painting guard rails around the building, and building interior walls to later be ‘ceilinged’ with a lattice material. Also later we’ll be striping the parking lot.
On this particular trip we’ve been tasked with doing the planning, procuring the materials, and doing the work, so it’s taken some extra hours of prep work before actual work takes place. Not to worry….we’re tired and well sore this evening. It was a great day. All glory to the God who loves us and watches over us

Monday, March 14
A full day today. We got out of Corsicana about 8 am and into Orange, Tx about noon….settled into our lodging at First Presbyterian by 1:00. Then lunch and about 45 minutes to the worksite where we met PDA folks and our supervisors. We did some general cleanup…. There’s Roger finishing the filling of a dumpster and Alana enjoying one of the cookies provided for us. She, Judy and I moved quite a bit of trash while Ralph was designing the plan for equipment and repairs for work tomorrow. We enjoyed some ocean food afterward and got in around 9.
On a trip to Lowes we could see all the destruction they’ve had— 5 storms in the past year—many businesses still have not re-opened.
They seem to have most of our work set up to aid in their foodbank/pantry repair and cleanup. They’ll dedicate the building Sunday and name it after the past administrator who is undergoing cancer diagnostics and treatment.
Thanks for your prayers. We are all doing well,
Craig, Judy, Alana, Roger, Deb and Ralph
